Description of activities and Improvements

Each week: Class activities and photos
We had different activities that led to the discussion and brainstorming of  effective teams and expectations from smoothly running, collaborative teams.

We used a couple of activities that led to the important stages smoothly.
Lowering down the hulahoop w/o losing contact: They tried to do it as a group but couldn't manage it. When they tried it in a group of 4 or 3 they managed it. This led to the discussions on effective teams and how synergy can be provided to achieve a goal.
Grouping with a rope/string: One student was given the rope and asked to hold it and talk about their expectation from their team and then give the rest of the rope to another person in the circle. They all talked about their expectations which raised all important aspects of team work. Later I asked them to untie the ropes starting from the end/last part of the rope. Each 3 formed a group. Depending on the number in class the last groups were in 3s or 4s. In their groups they sat together and discussed the topic trying to find one interesting area for each group. Later when they were asked to form their groups, they said they preferred to stay in the groups formed through this activity.

Blinfolded instructions:As the last activity depending on the number of the groups 2 people were blindfolded and their group members gave instructions for them to walk through a rocky field to reach the exit. This gave them the opportunity to guess/notice  possible challenges of working in teams and how they feel under those difficulties.  They discussed possible strategies to prevent or overcome those. Communication and collaboration seem to be the most important concepts that are important for sec.S.
It was so much fun to do something different for them and these activities created real reasons to express their feelings and expectations.
They all chose Google Blogger as their communication space.
Here's an example from one group

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the design of this course with their ideas and activities. So far so good!
