Reflections

PBL Week 12:
Dear All,
Although tomorrow is a PBL daay, we'll do text4 in the first hour starting at 9:00. Please make sure you do the tasks before the class. Later, We'll do the reflection for phase 4.
Here are some ideas for you. You may do it before coming to class. That means you can leave early. If you don't make sure you have your laptop or smart phone to be able to prepare a short presentation. Here are some ideas:


Each team prepares a 15-20 mins. presentation reflecting on the whole course.You can use different tools  for your presentation e.g ppt, prezi, moviemaker. Below are all the ideas that we have discussed together for your presentations. You can add more on the list.
  • ·         Mention all phases separately  (phase 1,2,3 and 4) as each phase needs a unique reflection.
  • ·         First day (forming teams) and last day (poster presentation) are milestones!!! Talk about your feelings, learning points, challenges etc.
  • ·         What were the challenges you faced? How did you overcome them?
  • ·         Give some advice to future PBL students.
  • ·         Provide feedback to your PBL teacher and the PBL coordinator. If you were the teacher or the coordinator what would you change/add / cancel and why?
  • ·      Mention about the skills that you have developed -Try to give specific examples
  • ·         Best moments …. Worst moments….
  • ·         What was new to you? Did you like it?
  • ·  ·         Don’t forget to use your photos from WhatsApp

·         You can refer to SLPBL website to see individual and team reflection documents for other ideas.

  • ·         How did you benefit from the reflection tasks?  Reflection was a unique part of PBL – How did you feel about it?
  • ·         TEAM WORK… for 12 weeks – the same team members: How did you feel about it? Advantages, problems, suggestions for better team work etc.
  • ·         What are the contributions of the course to your education life and future career?

Week6:
You could answer the following questions to reflect on the second phase:
1. How has your team worked together so farWhat specifically worked well? What difficulties did  youexperience?
2. What role did each person play in the group? How was each person helpful to complete phase 1?
3. How did each member feel about his or her level of participation?
4. What would you do differently if given a second chance for phase 2?

5. What is the best thing you have done so far as a teamWhat can you do better?
OR
You can write a letter to your PBL teacher or team members to share your opinion of the progress and team work in the second phase.

Week 4:
Class checked Phase 2 responsibilities and reflected on where they are individually and as a group in this process.
Individually:
  • Summarise your individual research sources
  • Take notes of relevant information (main ideas and supporting information) to help answer your research question.
They also made a plan for PBL lesson 5 considering the expectations below


As a team: 
  • Share the relevant information from your research
  • Evaluate and synthesize all your information to identify the key points and main ideas to answer your research question.​

  • Record your evaluation of the information
  • The discussion must be in English
***Meanwhile, we decided to think about possible presentation and poster preparation tools to share them briefly in the next gathering.
Week 3:

Week 2:
This was a special day as there was the 'Commemoration Ceremony' for our founding president  prof. Dr. Tosun Terzioğlu' and unfortunately there was only one member from each group. We couldn't achieve our objectives. Therefore, groups will meet outside and compete the tasks that have been listed in the newest list section. 



Week1:
3 groups were formed. Opinion Hunters created their blog and members started adding their sections. They also managed to find their focus area for 21st C. skill, knowledge and attitude for future education and career. Learning English

The other 2 groups also chose their focus are but haven't sent me their blog links yet.
